About
About this research file
Austin Home Searches is an independent research file on buying a home in the Austin metro — neighborhoods, market data, school-district notes, and practical buyer guidance, kept honest and free of the listings pitch. The goal is a working reference, the kind of notes a careful buyer keeps, not a brokerage brochure.
What this file covers
Neighborhood guides for close-in Austin, the family suburbs, and the Hill Country edge; a plain read on the market — prices, inventory, rates, and property tax; school-district notes; and a walk through how a Texas closing actually works, from the option period to the title company. Where a number comes from a public report, we say so and point you to the source.
Our approach
Every page is built to be useful, honest, and free of clutter. No pop-ups, no paywalls, no auto-playing video — just clear information presented well. Price ranges are typical asking ranges, not appraisals; neighborhood and school notes are field summaries meant to point you toward the primary sources, never to replace them. Always verify a specific property against the county appraisal district and the current MLS.
Who publishes this
Austin Home Searches is part of the WholeTech Network, an independent Austin, Texas publisher building websites since 1996 — starting with one of the city's first online communities. The network spans a family of independent sites, each focused on a single subject. It is not affiliated with any listing brokerage.
